SERVICE AND JUSTICE
"I want a Church that is poor, and for the poor." - Pope Francis
Social justice is a core teaching of the Catholic Church. God’s unconditional for each of us is a reflection of our love for others. Students and community members are invited to take advantage of the opportunities at the Newman Center to participate in social justice formation and activities.
Several times throughout the year, we undertake community service projects such as collecting canned foods, winter clothing drives, feeding those in need and working on home/facility repairs for the needy.
Catholic Relief Services
We are also blessed to be part of the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Campus Advocate program. We have a variety of activities including World AIDS Day, Rice Bowl, Catholics Confronting Hunger and more.
